personal artwork

here's the thing...i hate taking photos of my art. it's a lot of work. a. lot. of. work. taking
spontaneous photos of dirty feet after a day of hard yard work or of my precious little niece
feeling sand between her toes for the first time is easy. perhaps i should put those photos
here...hmmm...

card challenge swap

my wonderful friend gayle (cracked ankle productions, an all occasion card studio in
morenci, michigan) and i spent a year challenging each other to create just for the sake of
creating. each month we limited ourselves to three colors and one element, for example,
red, baby blue, black and polka dots or teal, lime, red and plaid. the restrictions were entirely
up to our own interpretation though! here are a few of my results.

doodlebug artist trading card swap

the scrapbook store here in jasper, indiana, is amazing! they're always on the ready to order me supplies in bulk
and demonstrate how to use all the new products they bring back from cha. they recently started a monthly artist
trading card swap. here's a sampling of some of my artistic efforts.
doodlebug girls, you're the best!
art for ms lily

my hugely huggable niece, lily, lives too too far away for me to give her a big squeeze whenever i please and it
nearly kills me! so instead i have to make her art. for valentine's day i altered an old beat up children's board
book, filling it with a bidillion hugs and kisses.

and remember when sticker books were all the rage?! mine was a small three-ring binder with a super, squishy
soft, plastic cover and laminated pages in all kinds of sherbet colors. i held tight to scratch-n-sniff stickers that
smelled like pizza and pickles; those were my absolute favorites.

the sticker book for ms lily was more of a practical gift though. she was sticking her collection of sticky horses
(grandma's favorite), cartoon characters in all shapes and sizes and princess paraphernalia on furniture, floors,
walls and regretfully her furry fun loving (to a point) pets!
