frequently asked questions

if you do not see your question below, please feel free to contact us by phone or email. as
your teachers always said, there are no dumb questions.

what services do you offer?

if you have a creative request that is not listed below, please do not hesitate to contact
us. we are first and foremost an art studio. we are always exploring new creative
opportunities.

what makes you different from a catalog order company or another invitation source?

glad girl graphics is a small but enthusiastic art studio. we incorporate graphic design
technologies generally to
enhance our fine art focus rather than dominate. we hand
assemble the final product and deliver it in person whenever possible. you will collaborate
with our artist to create a design that is solely yours. it is true you will likely pay more than a
catalog order company but your invitation will be like nothing else your guests have ever
received.

are you able to take really small or really large quantity orders?

our handcrafted, hand assembled invitations and accessories require a tremendous amount
of time and attention to detail. to ensure quality, glad girl graphics has determined that an
order for approximately 300 pieces is our limit. if you anticipate a large order, it is never too
early to contact us to discuss your needs. your smaller orders are always welcome. no order
is
too small.

what will it cost?

your cost will vary depending upon your individual requirements. as such, there are no
templates to choose from and no flat fees. because each piece is custom designed and
handcrafted, the price will reflect the materials chosen and the amount of detail involved. your
budget will be taken into consideration right from the start and we will shop quality materials
at the most discounted prices to maximize our creative potential. cost is usually defined by
price per piece. smaller orders may be priced by the total project. prices range from $5 to $40
or higher per piece.

what method of payment do you accept & when is payment due?

a price per piece or project estimate will be provided after creative collaboration. a signed
client agreement and 75% of the total order estimate must be received to initiate production.
the remaining 25%, plus any changes and shipping costs, must be paid within 15 days of
receipt of your order.

we prefer cash, cashiers check or money order. we do accept personal checks but please
allow two weeks for bank clearing.

how many pieces should i order?

we generally suggest you order 10% (but no less than 12) more pieces than you think you will
require. these extras will allow you to easily handle last-minute or b-list guests, as well as
ensure you have at least one for your own keepsake. we base your cost on the total quantity
of pieces initially ordered. if you find that you must reorder, your cost will be recalculated
based on additional material costs and labor. your price per piece could be as much as
30-50% higher than your original cost.

when should we make the initial contact with you?

keep in mind that with custom invitations the creative process does take time. the more time
we have to collaborate, the more meaningful your invitation will be to you and your guests.

this is one area where we recommend you abandon published checklists and timelines.
contact us as soon as the date is set. it is never too early, especially if you might be
interested in a full ensemble (for example: save-the-dates, invitations and programs). 6 to 9
months before the event date is ideal though. we will try to handle rush orders (3 months or
less specifically) as our creative schedule will allow. there is no harm in asking.

one last thought as you consider...as a general rule, party invitations will be mailed to invited
guests 3-6 weeks prior to your celebration while wedding invitations will be mailed to guests
6-8 weeks prior to your wedding date. if it will be a destination wedding or a party destination
that will require guests travel, you will likely need to mail out invitations even earlier (10-12
weeks).

how do we get started?

you may contact us by phone or by email. tell us a little bit about yourself, the details of your
event and what specific design ideas you might already have. if you email us, please also
indicate how best to follow up with you. we look forward to creating with you.
